Zang Toi fashion show private luncheon
Jill Zaran is hosting the Zang Toi fashion show private luncheon and is light on attendance by fellow “housewives.”. That’s probably because Jill says Bethenny Frankel is the only one that can afford the fashions! Wowza!
Unimpressed with Kelly Bensimon’s name-dropping, Bethenny gives her the cold shoulder when the two are forced to sit next to each other at another one of the shows.
Over at the Russell Simmons Menswear show, tensions mount with all of the ladies in the front row where Alex McCord’s husband, Simon van Kempen, pressures Ramon Singer into telling him that he’s shallow…OUCH! At least she didn’t call him gay!
“The Real Housewives of New York City” airs tonight at 10/9c on Bravo.
calorie restriction diet plans
Calorie Restriction Diet Plan – One of the most popular diets is the calorie restriction diet, and it seems to be backed up by great medical results. This is different from fads diets that opt for one thing over the other because the calories we consume are filled with nutritional value.
With a calorie restriction diet plan, you are eating less calories than the ones you need to maintain your current weight. This amount of needed calories will vary from individual and well in each case you need to eat 25% calories than the ones needed. Unlike other diets, the nutritional value is also a key factor, this means that participants will only focus on healthy food that will prove to be better for the long term.
Dr. Oz was on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ to discuss ways that you can live past one hundred with vitality. He coined it as ‘exreme life extension’ when you push past the 100 year mark with ease and live with health and not disease. In the audience they have Joe who Dr. Oz believes could very well live to be 150 years old.
They showed how Joe who is 5’9” and weighs 130 pounds is so healthy. He eats around 1950 calories each day. They showed how he eats a huge bowl of fruit and some walnuts for breakfast. He eats the peel of the apple, but not the whole apple. He weighs and measures his foods. He eats a huge bowl of salad that would look like it would feed a whole family. He weighed 175 pounds before he began 7 years ago. Doctors have told him that at age 51 he has the body of a 20 year old athlete. He eats about 80 percent of his diet with raw fruits and vegetables.
different ideas of sexy
The collective
opinion of what’s sexy has risen and fallen with necklines and hemlines. Different figures — sometimes a curvy hourglass, sometimes a delicate waif — also turn up the heat at different points in history.
What’s consistent, though, is appreciation for the female body.
“Seduction,” an exhibit at the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, puts 19th century bustles next to Rudi Gernreich’s microminis of the 1960s as it explores how women have strategically covered their bodies in hopes that admirers will imagine what’s underneath.
The curator, Colleen Hill, says fashion has adopted three muses to worship: one who is romantic, one who is sultry and the serious sexpot.
An opening vignette features three lingerie looks, equally alluring: Lace-trimmed camisole knickers in a pastel green silk that grazes the body would have been worn under a flapper dress in the 1920s; a naughty black lace girdle set from the 1950s creates the then-desired hourglass; and a peacock-print, no-wire bra and panties from the 1960s are all about natural beauty.
“The idea of ‘seduction’ isn’t always what we typically think of as sexy,” Hill says. More important than how much skin is exposed or if a garment is made of stretch lace or patent leather is if you’re left wanting to see more.
As an industry, fashion caught on to this early. A pale green evening gown from 1818 featured in the exhibit has an eye-attracting, low-cut neckline as well as an empire waist, which acted like an early push-up bra, while the bustles of the Victorian era, normally seen as a prudish period, actually helped define the shape of the leg.
Lauren Conrad her fashion career?
According to the New York Post, “The Hills” starlet, in her last season of the MTV reality show, won’t be producing another season of her Lauren Conrad Collection. At least, not for now.
Some L.A. showrooms got a message blaming it on the economy “In light of the economic climate, Lauren has decided to completely rethink her line.”
Shipment of the last spring and summer delivery has been canceled, the memo said.
The Dish Rag had already reported that the line wasn’t faring well at Kitson. Rumors are that she wants to do a more high-end line. Perfect timing, Lauren. High-end and luxury is on everyone’s minds these days.
But Lauren’s rep told the Post: “With everything going on in the economy and in her life, she wants to rework her line and offerings. She will make announcements soon.”
Gosh, we can hardly wait.
